Cairo-14 November- Leading pharmaceutical company EVA Pharma, which has a presence in over 40 countries worldwide, organized a series of events last week to celebrate World Diabetes Awareness Day, with the participation of several key national stakeholders. EVA Pharma and Egypt Healthcare Authority cooperated to implement the “Sokarak Mazboot” campaign to raise awareness and conduct free examinations for diabetic patients at the Medical Complex building, the June 30 International Center for Nephrology and Tract Diseases, and at several other health facilities. Dr. Mohamed Nashat, Director of the Secondary Care Department at the Egypt Healthcare Authority and Acting Deputy Director of the Medical Complex said that the campaign served many of the patients of the Medical Complex and the June 30 Center for free. Educational events about managing diabetes were also held at 32 healthcare centers and family medicine units. EVA Pharma, in cooperation with presidential development initiative Haya Karima, also organized three convoys to conduct free medical examinations, with the company donating various diabetes and peripheral neuritis treatments to support the efforts. EVA Pharma is keen to mark World Diabetes Awareness Day as part of the company’s commitment to social responsibility, said Dr. George Maher, EVA Pharma’s Marketing Director. The company’s role is not limited to providing the latest and most effective medical treatments in a variety of fields, including diabetes, he affirmed; it also extends to cooperation with all official authorities, and with medical associations and institutions, for the benefit of patients, through donating innovative treatments and organizing awareness sessions and other events.
