EVA Pharma partners with Microsoft on digital strategy

Cairo, October 26, 2021 — EVA Pharma, the innovation-led global healthcare company based in Egypt, has signed an agreement to enhance its digital transformation efforts with Link Data Center, a "gold partner" for Microsoft.

The agreement includes the provision of communication and cooperation tools for EVA Pharma’s different teams and departments, as well as the provision of Microsoft Azure, the leading cloud services provider.

“The company is keen to develop its information databases and provide a modern technological infrastructure that provides a fully digitized work environment, with the aim of making a breakthrough in various products. The company manufactures more than half a million healthcare products per day, serving patients in more than 40 countries around the world,” said Dr. Riad Armanious, EVA Pharma’s CEO.

Digital transformation is one of EVA Pharma’s priorities to implement the latest standards of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, Dr. Armanious said, pointing to the company's partnerships with major international firms on the manufacturing of modern and innovative healthcare solutions that benefit patients globally.

He added that EVA Pharma plans to harness the latest technological systems in the service of scientific research via its research arm, the Mounir Armanious Research Center (MARC), one of the largest pharmaceutical research centers in North Africa.

Eng. Michael Mounir, the head of digital transformation and information technology at EVA Pharma, said the company will, by relying on the latest technologies, provide unmatched employee and end-user experiences, as well as cost-efficient and data-driven decision making which will support EVA Pharma’s plan for global reach and boost time-to-market efficiency.

Mounir added that the company is keen to support emerging applications that serve patients, such as the Se7etak and Limitless apps, as well as those to support doctors and medical staff through the EVA Rx app, which provides the latest guidelines for treating various conditions and contributes to the discussion on the latest medical updates.

Mirna Aref, General Manager of Microsoft Egypt, said that the future is companies seeking digital transformation, and that he expects that this will happen intensively during the next year in order to enhance the capacity of workers through productivity solutions. He also thanked EVA Pharma for its confidence in Microsoft products to enhance its work environment.

Eng. Jamal Selim, CEO of Link Data Center, described the cooperation between the two sides as providing a "magical shortcut” to enhance the enterprise’s efficiency, and added that digital transformation paves the way for a new world full of growth opportunities.

Selim added, in press statements after signing the agreement, that Link will manage the expansion of the EVA Pharma’s data center to run on Azure, one of Microsoft's main platforms, which enables expansion and adds more security to stored data. The system also facilitates the storage and management of data.
