Cairo, Egypt. 7th April - EVA Pharma, the leading pharmaceuticals manufacturer, has announced the launch of a dedicated hotline (15915) to facilitate patient access to the original mounjaro medication, the advanced treatment for obesity and type 2 diabetes. “mounjaro” is available by prescription and must be used under medical supervision and can be obtained only through authorized pharmacies.
This step comes as part of a joint effort between EVA Pharma and the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) to combat the circulation of counterfeit and illegally imported “mounjaro Kwikpen” products in the local market. The newly launched hotline aims to guide patients to the nearest authorized pharmacy and provide information on the safe and proper use of the medication, in line with EVA Pharma’s commitment to empower the fight for health.
EVA Pharma stressed the importance of purchasing medications from trusted pharmacies to ensure product authenticity, as well as safe storage and other logistic conditions, which are particularly sensitive for this type of medication. Using unauthorized or counterfeit alternatives poses serious health risks, as they are imported from unknown resources and may cause health risks. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that patients use the medication strictly under medical supervision and obtain it exclusively from licensed pharmacies.
In an official statement released today, EVA Pharma warned patients against purchasing mounjaro through social media platforms or from the parallel market. The company confirmed that the original medication is exclusively available at licensed pharmacies across Egypt, at a fixed price for each pen
The Egyptian Drug Authority had previously issued warnings regarding the circulation of counterfeit mounjaro products, urging the public to verify the source of their medications to ensure both efficacy and safety.
EVA Pharma also clarified that mounjaro is available in all approved strengths: 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5 mg and 15 mg. It is manufactured by the global biopharmaceutical company Eli Lilly and is considered one of the latest treatments designed to support weight reduction while decreasing blood glucose levels.
