EVA Pharma Supports MoU Between European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL) and United Conference of Hepatogastroenterology and Infectious Diseases. (UCHID)

Cairo, Egypt- 25 September 2025 -- EVA Pharma announced its support for a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL) and the United Conference of Hepatogastroenterology and Infectious Diseases (UCHID).

 The collaboration aims to address the growing burden of liver diseases by empowering scientific knowledge exchange and implementing international clinical guidelines. In a new scientific achievement that contributes to supporting the capabilities of gastroenterology, hepatology, and infectious disease physicians.

Dr. Gamal Esmat, Professor of Hepatology and Gastroenterology and former Vice President of Cairo University, explained that the agreement represents a qualitative leap in supporting medical education and scientific research in Egypt. He indicated that it targets main axes including scientific research, medical education, and training, granting junior physicians valuable training opportunities

Dr. Emam Waked, Professor of Liver Diseases at the National Liver Institute, affirmed that the MoU includes the sponsorship by the European Association of the fatty liver disease axis within the training school affiliated with the conference, enhancing opportunities for transferring expertise and knowledge to junior physicians in Egypt and the region.

For his part, Dr. Ahmed Cordie, Professor of Hepatology, Gastroenterology, and Infectious Diseases at Kasr Al-Ainy Faculty of Medicine and Secretary-General of the United Foundation for Gastroenterology and Liver Diseases, stated that the MoU is based on three main pillars, exchange of scientific expertise, providing education and training with discounts exceeding 90%, and joint research cooperation between Egypt and European countries on liver diseases. Moreover, He praised the significant support provided by EVA Pharma in making this cooperation a success, through hosting European delegations, facilitating workshops, and providing research resources, along with logistical and technical support for scientific research.

Dr. Mayssa Abdullah Saeed, Professor of Hepatology and Gastroenterology at Zagazig University, clarified that cooperation with the European Association gives junior physicians the opportunity to benefit from the expertise of international professors in the early diagnosis of fatty liver disease, which has become one of the most prominent health challenges after the elimination of Hepatitis C virus. She noted that the agreement provides discounts of up to 90% on European Association membership fees, along with grants for junior physicians.

 Dr. Shady Michel, Specialty Care Franchises Head underscored: "We are proud to support this initiative that brings together the largest medical and research institutions in Egypt and the world... Enabling junior physicians and equipping them with the latest scientific knowledge is a direct investment in the health of the Egyptian patient and society as a whole, and we aspire to expand these initiatives in the future to include broader areas of chronic diseases."
