ABOUT US

The Egyptian Medical Association, in cooperation with the Egyptian Orthopedic Association, has launched the country’s first scientific guidelines for treating patients with osteoarthritis. The guidelines lay out the foundations for diagnosing osteoarthritis and arthritis and the best methods of treatment according to each case. The aim is to facilitate the best possible medical care for patients regardless of geographical location by supporting the expertise and effectiveness of junior physicians. In presence of the former health minister Dr. Adel Adawy, who is head of the Egyptian Medical Association,Dr. Gamal Ahmed Hosni, professor of orthopedics and traumatology at Benha University and president of the Egyptian orthopedic Association,Dr. Alaa Al-Zuhairi, professor of orthopedic surgery at Suez Canal University and former president of the Egyptian orthopedic Association,Dr. Taymour Al-Husseini, professor of orthopedics and former head of the department of orthopedics at Ain Shams University; and Dr. Hani Mowafi, professor of orthopedics at Mansoura University and treasurer of the Egyptian Orthopedic Association,Dr. Abdel Salam Eid, professor of orthopedics and dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Zagazig University, and secretary-general of the Egyptian Orthopedic Association; Dr. Ashraf El-Nahal, professor of orthopedics and former head of the orthopedic department at Cairo University; and Dr. Adel Hamed, professor of orthopedic surgery at Al-Azhar University and  president of the Egyptian Arthroscopy Association, Dr. Mohamed Bahy El-Shafei, professor of orthopedics and former head of the orthopedics department at Minya University; Dr. Adel Refaat, professor of orthopedic surgery at Alexandria University; and Dr. Osama Farouk, professor of orthopedics and head of the orthopedic unit at Assiut University Hospitals.
